Summer Cultural Activities in Buenos Aires
The Cultural Secretary of the government of the City of Buenos Aires is proud to present this years´ program of cultural activities all over the city called “Aires Buenos Aires, Cultura para respirar” (Culture to Breathe). It starts next Saturday, January 9 up until February 20.
It consists of over 300 free events, including musical shows, drive-in movies, ballet, dance, theater, activities for children, circus action, open air “milongas”, and numerous musical events, every day during January and February of 2010.
The schedule includes 124 activities, with over 300 events, around 20 barrios of Buenos Aires: 14 movies, 4 theater plays, 45 concerts, 7 popular “milongas”, 18 children’s shows, 6 circus shows, and 10 workshops for kids, and more.
The drive-in will be set up at the Rose Garden, Paseo de la Infanta, every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm. There will also be stalls for spectators without a car. The first movie to be shown will be “El Secreto de sus Ojos”, by Juan Jose Campanella.
Children will enjoy shows by artists like Adriana, Los Cazurros and La Banda del Musiquero Loco, among others, as well as children’s plays and painting workshops at Pasaje Lanín, in the barrio de Barracas.
The closing of the activities will be on February 20 with an outstanding show at the Obelisco, honouring the Great Tango Master Mariano Mores.
