Places to Act Like a Kid

If you’ve been all work and no play lately, it’s time to get out and act like a kid again. Running around in circles, getting a sugar high and acting silly are perfectly acceptable, and sometimes the cure to any mid-winter blues. Lion Country Safari – Feel the excitement at Florida’s only drive through safari, located 20 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach. Pack a group in the car and get prepared to visit this wildlife preserve. It is home of over 900 animals. You will encounter the familiar lions, elephants and tigers and the more exotic animals like the Gemsbok, Blackbuck and Eland. In addition to the drive through safari, this popular destination is also home to over 200 campsites, a restaurant, a gift shop, a ferris wheel, a petting zoo and bird, reptile, and alligator exhibits.

Boomers! in Boca Raton offers everything that a child could want and more.This theme park offer bumper boats, a game room, go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, a rock wall, bowling and more. Boomers is open from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm on Friday. On Saturdays, the park is open from 10:00 am – 11:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. Parking is free.

Dave & Buster’s – This restaurant/entertainment destination combines an ideal environment for drinks, dinner and games. Whether you are looking for a traditional game like Ms. Pac-Man, Skeeball or Space Invaders or something with a modern twist like Dance Dance Revolution, Super Trivia or Dave & Buster’s Downs — you will find it here and be entertained for hours. Activate a Power Card and you will get $10 of play for free and for a limited time, all games on Wednesdays are 1/2 price. If you need a break, move on over to the restaurant or bar and you can easily refuel.
