Disney’s Give a Day, Get a Day Celebration

It is better to give than receive.  Doing something for others makes youfeel better.  We have heard all these statements before, but now thanks to a special year long promotion by Disney, helping others will give participants in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada, the World or Land for a day, FREE.Goofy volunteers

A previous post outlined this promotion featured at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, but an opportunity this exciting, needs to be repeated, AS TODAY IS THE FIRST OFFICIAL DAY TO REGISTER YOUR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY.

During 2010, anyone that gives a day of service to one of the participating agencies as designated by HandsOn Network, will receive a ticket  for one day at one of the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort.

In an attempt to create even more excitement and stimulate the thrill of volunteering, several other sites and opportunities have popped up:

  • Give a Day, Get a Day Tour - to spread the word and let individuals and families know how they can volunteer in their community, the tour will hit the road, visiting various cities and you can follow the tour online
  • Enter for a 5-day, 4-night vacation to either Disneyland Resort in California (map) or Walt Disney World Resort in Florida (map), including theme park tickets, accommodations and air travel aboard Southwest Airlines
  • Share information on the promotion and contest with friends and Tweet It - to receive an extra entry in the sweepstakes

This clever new site is hosted by some of our favorite Muppet pals, who will incidentally be participating in the daily parades at the theme parks , beginning on January 8th, to recognize the spirit of volunteerism and some of the families that have “voluntEARed”.

Roll up your sleeves and get ready to Give a Day and you might be one of the first million people to Get a Disney Day in return.
