What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

As the old song goes “What are you doing New Years, New Years Eve?” About this time, the week after the Christmas festivities are over, that’s what’s on most people’s minds.  Some of us like to just stay home and watch the ball drop in Times Square on TV. (A couple of my most memorable New Years Eves were the ones I stayed home with a supply of Ale and Welsh Rarebit and Bubbley for midnight).  I’m not fond of spending the last night of the year (or the first of the New) in the company of strangers,  but last year my son’s band was playing at a local pub so a bunch of us went there and had a ball!  This year I’m opting to attend a party at a friend’s.

Whatever your choice for ringing in the New Year, there are a lot of choices available in town where you can enjoy a variety of entertainments from expensive to reasonable prices.

You don’t need to spend the entire evening at one club if you join the NEW YEARS EVE EXTRAVAGANZA CLUB CRAWL which starts at the Blarney Stone in Gastown, and takes revellers by bus to unknown destinations around town.For tickets
