A Disney Souvenir You Will Cherish, Hands Down!

Do  these souvenirs sound familiar?  A t-shirt that commemorates the vacation destination and is worn a few times, until it shrinks?!  Or the light-up spinny-thing that is so cool in the dark, until it gets caught in sister’s hair?!  Take heart, as I have uncovered a souvenir that will withstand the test of time.downtown disney

A new “hand art” vendor  has recently opened a kiosk at Downtown Disney, creating framable souvenirs you will actually cherish. Customers place their hand print on paper and the artist then turns the print into a creation.

For example, one hand print might actually become a monkey or a swan. Since you are at Disney, how about a princess’s gown or Blackbeard’s beard.  Because of copyright laws, the creation will not be an official Disney character, but they sure are fun!

While most of the art choices are standard, the works can be customized.  Each holiday will bring a few extra design choices like Santa and a reindeer, for example.

Hand Art Memories, is located near Disney Pin Traders at Downtown Disney Marketplace (map).

Run by the same company that provides face-painting to theme park guests, a concept this simple it will have parents and preschool teachers wishing they had thought of this first.   I can see these kiosks popping up at every zoo, amusement park and festival around.

I can’t wait to visit this kiosk and give ‘em 5!

We had this done a few weeks ago at downtown disney – it was really cool. My son picked the dinosaur – it was really well painted. He loves it, and wanted it framed for his bedroom. I totally recommend this for parents of young children. Totally cool way to cherish a little handprint :)

I am so glad you have a valuable souvenir and great memory from your trip – I think this is a great idea and I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see more of these “carts” popping up at other family-friendly attractions.
