The Possibility Shop Creates World of Crafts for Disney Families
Do you have a little crafter at home? I sure do. She loves to hop online at Disney familyfun.com and watch the many videos sharing step-by-step instructions on many craft items, recipes and various holiday decorations.
A recent discovery, is a new addition to the Family Fun website in the form of an online video/craft show, entitled “The Possibility Shop” , hosted by Courtney Watkins. The author, illustrator, crafting guru, television personality, and frequent guest on The View and The Early Show, Watkins has traveled the U.S. speaking to school groups and families to encourage child creativity.
This very creative show uses live characters and puppets created by The Jim Henson Company showing items to create, discover and imagine. Set in a shop, The Possibility Shop, to be exact, the video show features the very clever shop owner, her assistant and a variety of “customers” as she shares ideas for fun and unique crafts.
The first episode aired with creative ideas for Thanksgiving, while the newest video shares ideas for holiday handmade gifts guaranteed to give “the warm and fuzzies” to those who receive them. For example, collage artwork or cards out of catalogs and old magazines. Upcoming episodes centering around New Year’s Eve will feature a time machine, and crafts to cheer on your favorite teams will help to celebrate, you guessed it,Super Bowl!
A new episode will air about every two weeks. Afraid you might miss an episode? You can set a reminder of an upcoming show.
This program is one that will have parents and children watching and crafting together, encouraging them to achieve the I-can-do-it attitude and “imagine the possibilities”. What a great way to kill some time on those long vacation car trips or even a little down time in your hotel room. Now, my only question, has anyone seen the glue?
