Fun, Festivities & Fireworks for the Kids
New Year’s Eve celebrations aren’t just for adults, and if the youngsters are looking for a party of their own, let them count down the minutes till midnight at the Pacific Science Center. The New Year’s Eve slumber party is full of educational fun for kids in second through sixth grade.
The night will be full of experiments that are sure to capture the attention of kids, while also teaching important science lessons. How about fiery hydrogen balloon explosions? Or maybe liquid nitrogen ice cream? Plus, New Year’s isn’t complete without noisemakers and a countdown to midnight. Those who manage to make it to midnight can watch the Space Needle fireworks from a safe spot within the gates of the Science Center. They’ll have one of the best views of the fireworks in town.
This is a perfect kid friendly activity for parents who have plans of their own for New Year’s Eve, or perhaps just want a quiet evening at home. And for the curious and inquisitive child, this is a great way to discover the fun of science.

If you’ve still got some holiday shopping left to do, a membership in the Pacific Science Center makes a great gift! Annual memberships start at $45 and include, depending on membership level, admission to exhibits, IMAX passes, admission to the planetarium, and lots more. I purchased a membership this year, and know from personal experience just how much value comes with membership. This gift will open brand new worlds to discover.
