AKC’s Top 10 Dogs in L.A.
The American Kennel Club released it’s list of Top 10 Most Popular Breeds today, and further narrowed it down by city. Los Angeles (map) and Long Beach (map) were both on the list – let’s see who made the cut!
Top 10 Los Angeles Breeds (based on AKC registrations):
1. Labrador Retriever
2. Bulldog
3. German Shepherd Dog
4. Golden Retriever
5. Yorkshire Terrier
6. French Bulldog
7. Poodle
8. Pug
9. Pomeranian
10. Maltese
Top 10 Long Beach Breeds (based on AKC registrations):
1. Labrador Retriever
2. Bulldog
3. Golden Retriever
4. Yorkshire Terrier
5. German Shepherd Dog
6. French Bulldog
7. Dachshund
8. Shih Tzu
9. Siberian Husky
10. Poodle
As you can see, the ever-popular Labrador Retriever takes the number one spot on both lists, as well as overall in the United States. Many dogs that are popular in the Los Angeles area seem to be the same ones that are popular in the United States.
