Woodland Park Zoo Winter Celebration
The entire Seattle area will be enjoying the winter holiday season, and that includes the residents of . You can take a break from the hectic schedule of your holiday shopping and festivities to join the animals in their own, and very special, Winter Celebration.
All your favorite animals will enjoy holiday-themed treats, like wreaths trimmed with fish or assorted fruit, evergreen trees with ornamental fruit, or wrapped boxes containing their own very favorite snacks. This special holiday zoo event is part of the zoo’s ongoing enrichment program that helps to promote natural animal behavior and to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. It’s great for visitors too!
Choose which animal you’d like to celebrate the holidays with, and then check our their celebration time:
Monday, December 21st & 28th Celebrations:
- 11 am – Sun Bears
- Noon – Grizzlies
- 1:30 pm – Pigs
- 2 pm – Elephants
Tuesday, December 22nd & 29th Celebrations:
- 11 am – Orangutans
- Noon – Otters
- 1 pm – Golden Lion, Tamarins
- 2 pm – Tiger
Wednesday, December 23rd & 30th
- 11 am – Snow Leopard Cubs (serious “ahhhhhhh” factor with these little guys)
- 1 pm – Gorillas
- 1:30 pm – Penguins
- 2 pm – Australian Birds and Keas
The animals of Woodland Park Zoo bring you a very special holiday greeting:
Location: Two zoo entrances are open during winter hours, the West Entrance at 5500 Phinney Avenue North (map), and the South Entrance at 750 North 50th Street (map).
Date & Time: Winter zoo hours are daily 9:30 am-4 pm. Winter Celebration is December 21st – 23rd & December 28 – 30th; 11 am-2 pm
Admission: Winter admission is $11 adults; $8 children (ages 3-12); FREE for toddlers (under 3). A which will save you $2 per person.
Parking: $5
NOTE: Due to cold temperatures, some animals are not on public view
