The city is aglow with beautiful lights and decorations, setting a festive mood for the Christmas holiday season. There’s a lot to see and do and here are 10 suggestions where you’ll be able to view the lights and participate in holiday celebrations.
1. BRIGHT NIGHTS CHRISTMAS TRAIN to January 2. More than a million twinkling lights transform the forest, train and children’s farmyard. Visit Santa in his living Room at the train station.

7. FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, Van Dusen Botanical Gardens Dec 11 – Jan 3 (closed Christmas day). 4.30 pm – 9 pm Visit this holiday wonderland. You might even meet Santa wandering in the garden.
8. GINGERBREAD LANE to Dec 27 See hundreds of decorated gingerbread houses on display in the main lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 655 Burrard St.
9. CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS to Dec 31 at Park & Tilford Gardens. More than 100,000 lights turn this three acre garden into a Christmas wonderland. Lights on at 4.30 pm daily. Free admission.

10. 18th ANNUAL DUNDARAVE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS to Jan 6. 100 decorated and lit Christmas trees on the beach at Dundarave as well as in the village. Fundraiser for Lookout Emergency Aid Society’s North Shore Shelter. Bonfire, music on the beach and watch the carol ships sail by.
