Art Outings: Opening At Contrast Gallery
Usually the many galleries of La Eixample hold their openings on Thursdays, staying open late so that visitors can pop into one gallery and then the next.

This month, however, Galeria Contrast will be holding their opening for the show Suite Flamenco on a Saturday. The show features photographs by Canadian Robert Berlin, who began his career as a painter and then moved into photography.
The exhibition has been described as:
In Suite Flamenco, Robert Berlin, has captured the images of Flamenco dancers in order to study the movement of the human form, later scanning the images Berlin hunts for the abstracted images; always giving focus to the color and form that the dancers provided. The result is unexpected due to many technological factors; the actual process of taking the photo, digital manipulation and the printing process. This means the resulting image can be made much more dynamic than the original shot, the result gives a strong esthetic that is widely open to interpretation.
