Public transport fares raising in St. Petersburg

As of January 1st  fares in public transport in St. Petersburg will be enhanced. Not much, but you should pay attention to this, since almost all online guides  have only current information or even out of time.  That is a great advantage of the Planet Eye Traveler that I can inform  you as soon as something happens.

So, one trip on a trolley-bus, bus or tram will cost you as much as 19 rubles, today it is 18. An underground trip (metro) will cost 22 rubles, now it’s only 20.

There are also little commercial private  regular buses like one pictured above. They have their own price-policy, but it is connected with fares for public transport. They are also called “marshrutka” (a derivative from Russian “marshrut” — a route). Now an average fare in the city is 26 rubles, so after January 1 or maybe a bit before there will some going up. I think it will be 28.
