Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment

Here I go again with my chocolate obsession!  This time it’s the Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment scheduled for this Sun. Nov. 15th from 1-5 p.m. at The Bell House, 149 7th St between Second and Third Aves in Gowanus, Brooklyn.  The main attraction is checking out the cocoa-based creations of 30 amateur chefs at this chocolate throwdown.

Chocolate: The Main Event!

Chocolate: The Main Event!

Competitive cookoff pros Theo Peck and Nick Suarez present what promises to be NYC’s premier confectionary competition.  Budding cocoa artists will compete by creating their most delicious chocolate-based dishes in three categories (sweet, savory and drinks).  The audience, along with a celebrity judging panel including Amanda Hesser and Merrill Stubbs from Food52 pick their favorites.  Some eye popping prizes and cash will be given away to the victors. If you don’t consider yourself the next Willie Wanka and didn’t sign up to compete already, don’t worry!  You can still sample the goods and a free beer that’s included in the admission price of $20 in advance or $25 at the door.  Now you have another opportunity for some beer and chocolate pairing!  Stay for the free after party in the front lounge with chocolate galore.
