Sydney Photo Friday: Sculpture by the Sea
is currently delighting casual art fans and boffins alike. This stunning sculpture, Where Is The Freedom?, is the work of Iranian artist Mona Aghababaee. She won the Damon Courtenay Memorial Young Sculptor Prize for young sculptors, but ironically has been denied a visa to collect the $5000 prize money in person. Where is the freedom indeed!

Those look so pretty on the beach!
The whole exhibition’s wonderful like that Katrina … the sculptures are all set up along the area’s walking tracks around the beach, on cliff faces. It’s so striking.
