Affordable Accommodation in Amsterdam

Here are some affordable accommodation options in Amsterdam. Many of the budget hotels are in the city centre. The budget is in the room size, not the service.  Here are a few suggestions for budget accommodation.

Centrally located close to Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark. A Super market is almost next door. Free internet, free towels, free coffee and tea.

Prices per person per night range from €40 for a double with shared facilities to €22 in a 10-bed mixed dorm. A minimum stay of two days at the weekend. Payment in cash on arrival. Prices are exclusive of 5% city tax.

The hostel / budget hotel Anne Marie has the following types of rooms

• 4, 5 and 6 beds, with private facilities, television and radio
• 1, 2 or 3 beds with shared facilities
• Singles always share facilities

All rooms have a sink and central heating

How to get there: Tram 5 from Centraal Station to Museumplein. The hotel is opposite Concert Gebouw.

Located in a 17th century building latest renovation was in 2008. Slightly away from the old centre, but close to Rembrandtplein, on the Amstel side of Herengracht, Keizersgracht. Steep chairs, no lift. Very quiet place also because bookings of groups larger than 4 persons are not accepted.

Prices per person per night range from €27 – €99. Towels and bed linnen free. All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities. Internet connection on request. Breakfast and 5% city tax are not includedin the room price.

How to get there: Tram 4, 9 or 16 from Centraal Station to Rembrandtplein

OMKAR GUESTHOUSE, Langebrugsteeg 2, Amsterdam

Location, location location! The more central you can’t get. Almost next to Dam Square and on the edge of the Red Light district.

Prices per person range from €30 in a triple room to €35 in a double room, all rooms are ensuite, breakfast is included in the room price. 24-hour reception and bar.

How to get there: 5 to 10 mins on foot from Centraal Station
