Rock Star-Poet Kim Addonizio to Read in Seattle
If there’s a “rock star” of the poetry world it’s , an award winning poet and novelist, and — rock musician, with her own rock band.
Kim Addonizio: poet, author, rock star
With both a BA and MFA from State University, she has the literary chops to hold her own among the best, while being unafraid of branching out and establishing her own course.
I was first made aware of Kim Addonizio with her first novel, , which has now been optioned for the big screen. Reese Witherspoon will play the lead, and will also co-produce the film. Little Beauties was a wacky, guilty pleasure of a read,
Ms Addonizio has recently published her fifth book of poetry, , and will be in Seattle to read from that poetry collection as part of the . Appearing on the program with her will be Port Townsend poet Gary Lilley.
In addition to the poetry readings, the two poets will also perform together, with Mr. Liley singing along with Ms. Addonizio’s harmonica accompaniment. A guitarist from T-Wrex will also join the duo, and will also provide background to some of Ms. Addonizio’s poetry.
Location: Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall, 200 University Street, downtown (map). The entrance is on Third Avenue.
