Funnyman Jeff Dunham & Characters Invade DC

Ventriloquist, comedian and puppet master Jeff Dunham brings his mostly politically incorrect and ill-tempered characters, such as the grumpy but lovable retiree Walter, redneck Bubba J, and Achmed, (“I will keel you”) the confused skeletal terrorist, plus the rest of his silly gang of puppets to the Verizon Center in Washington, DC in January.

After multiple television appearances on The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman and other comedy shoes plus selling over 4 million DVDs, Comedy Central gave him his own new show, “The Jeff Dunham Show” which launched in late October on Thursday nights.

Starting his professional career in Dallas at the age of just 12 playing community events until more recently when, after a spot on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1990, which ignited his meteoric popularity.

According to Forbes magazine, Dunham is the third-highest-earning American comedian, behind only Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock.

Called “America’s most popular stand-up comedian” by Slate.com, he has taken art of ventriloquism to a new heights by blending a Don Rickels-like approach to his character’s dialogue with timely topics, who often say out loud the things some people would really love to say publically, but can’t.  Dunham allows himself to be the brunt of many of his puppet’s jokes and insults.
