Chiles & Chocolate
The Desert Botanical Garden (map), nestled between Papago Park and the Phoenix Zoo hosts a world renowned collection of desert plants.

Visiting the garden is a relaxing, yet informative experience that allows you to connect with the desert. It’s like taking a breath of fresh air amid the hustle and bustle of surrounding Phoenix.
An annual event, Chiles & Chocolate is a culinary festival that features flavors, both spicy and sweet and a chance to taste gourmet chocolates, spicy salsas all available from local Arizona vendors. Like all the events the Desert Botanical Garden hosts, activities are available for everyone’s tastes. Cooking demos, activities for the kids, live music (DJs World Famous Rani “g” & dk.strickler) and traditional Flamenco dancers (Mosaico Flamenco) all add to the theme.
Since you’re already at Papago Park, a hilly, desert park with unique rock formations, stop by the Phoenix Zoo to see their new jaguar, rhinoceros and American bald eagle. It’s a beautiful part of town that has something for everyone!
