Day of the Dead Brunch
Dos Caminos
This local south of the border restaurant celebrates the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a traditional holiday to remember loved ones who have passed on. Traditionally, people offer their dear departed favorite foods and libations. Dos Caminos will celebrate the holiday with a post-Halloween hangover brunch that includes ice cold Mexican beer served in a salt rimmed glass with fresh lime, hot sauce, Worcestershire and Maggi sauce or the smoky, hot Chipotle Bloody Maria made with chipotle infused silver tequila.
If you need a pick-me-up with that shot, the Café de Olla infuses strong Mexican coffee with canela (a fragrant Mexican Cinnamon) and Piloncillo (Mexican raw sugar) spiked with Anejo Tequila and Kahlua, then topped with whipped cream. Food includes a traditional Mexican stew with slow roasted goat and fall vegetables in hearty-spicy pasilla chile broth served with warm tortillas and salsa borracha (spicy salsa made with pasilla de Oaxaca, beer and mezcal); Pan de Muerto French Toast, traditional bread eaten on Day of the Dead that is dipped in a custard of Pampantla Vanilla and Mexican Cinnamon before being topped with fall fruit Salsita and piloncillo syrup.
