Red Hook Lobster Pound

Even though summer is officially over, you can still party like it’s the 4th of July at Red Hook Lobster Pound in Brooklyn.  From now until the end of the year, this joint is teaming up with neighbor Rocky Sullivan’s (across the street from Red Hook Winery) for Lobstah Feast Fridays happening 6-9pm.  For $25 you get a 1.5-lb lobster, farm-fresh corn, coleslaw or potato salad inside or out.  You can be certain you’re getting the best because Red Hook Lobster Pound trucks their crustaceans in directly from Maine, a journey totaling just 6 hours door to door.

It’s first come, first served here and you can enjoy the spread out on their roof deck or inside rain or shine.  If you’re lucky, first production white wine from across the street will be available for pairing.  If you’re the “lazy man lobster” type, the Lobster Pound also offers fresh Maine Jonah Crab Claws, rock crabs harvested from the same deep waters and then pre cracked so you can snap and eat them.  At $12.00 per pound (5-8 large claws) you can’t go wrong!

And if you or your compadres simply squirm at the idea of lobster, you’ve got partner Rocky Sullivan’s serving their wood fired pizzas along with several Six Point ales on tap.  It’s seriously worth the trip just for the brews!
