The event incorporates not only the marathon (that’s just over 42 kilometres for you ‘non runners’!) but also a half and quarter marathon, 5km walk and for the first time this year a kids race which is 2.1 kilometres long. So there really is something for everyone, whether you are a novice or elite athlete and you can enter at the official website where you will also find lots of information on course details, training tips and accommodation packages.
If participating is not really your cup of tea then why not head along to support those who have been training their socks off for the past 6 months preparing for this physical and mental challenge – the event has attracted many top athletes including who has won the half marathon the last two years, will be a special guest at the event and starting the Kids Marathon – a New Zealand running legend, Dixon is also a passionate advocate of the worldwide children’s health and fitness movement and has developed successful training and events for children in the USA.
