The Rest of Scotland
This great article from the Skinny really inspired me to think about the great sights of the rest of Scotland outside of Edinburgh.

Here are my favourites:
- Aberdeen – a northern city left to its on devices, it’s known the Granite City, the Grey City, and the Silver City. Check it out and choose your preferred name.
- Pitlochry – an adorable little town with fantastic walks, sightseeing, and shops, all in one compact stop just off the main rail line. Don’t miss their Enchanted Forest!
- Killin – worth going just to see the Falls of Dochart rushing through town, but worth staying for the great walks and outdoors on Loch Tay.
- Campbeltown – a hidden Beatles backwater, hard to get to… and hard to leave!
Those are just a few suggestions… but the best part of Scotland is just to get in the car and drive. You never know what you’ll find.
