Danks Street Festival Goes Green
The popular Danks Street Festival will be even greener this weekend.
A new feature this year is the Live Green Kitchen, where celebrity chefs will lead sustainable cooking demonstrations. Jared Ingersoll, Kylie Kwong, and Alex Herbert are amongst the culinary whizzes ready to show at-home cooks how to reduce their environmental footprint.
“The Danks Street Festival is the City of Sydney’s premier celebration of sustainable food and living and the debut of our new Live Green Kitchen will give Sydneysiders another reason to visit this year,” explained Lord Mayor Clover Moore.
The handmade market is another new eco-friendly initiative. The sale of handcrafted items and tasty treats will help support local artists and charities. Hawkesbury Harvest will be back again with plenty of organic foods and local produce. It’s all about food miles people!
Add in some fantastic bands, interactive arts projects for kids, and plenty of top notch tucker and you’ve got the recipe for a great day out for the entire family.
The fifth annual Danks Street Festival is part of Sydney’s largest public arts festival, Art & About.
