Photography As A Teaching Tool, Katmandu, Nepal
When heading over seas, many see the camera as important as a passport as it allows anyone to see the world and then bring it back to share with friends and family. But what if the camera could do mare than create a barrier between you and your subject; be more than a lenses that shoots out at people like an intruder in their homes.
More commonly, organizations made up of individual people like you and I are taking that step needed to use their camera for more than their own personal benefit.
With no need for a common language, a camera paired with a little bit of patients have the ability to unlock a sense of common ground between people from all age groups, socio-economic backgrounds and present day situations.
With organizations likeĀ Just.One.org springing up more and more often, kids who have turned to the streets are now being given the opportunity to express themselves in an artistic manor. They are being given the opportunity to unlock creative channels, which may lead to careers in journalism, photography or teaching others within their community.
