Visit the Jaguar Preserve

The Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort is located near the 150,000-acre Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary which is the world’s first jaguar preserve.  Guests can explore the regions eco-systems while observing one of nature’s most elegant animals.

Explore the Mayan Ruins

Mayan tour guides lead excursions deep into the forest, taking guests on scenic canoe rides and hikes where secluded waterfalls and more than 500 species of birds are waiting to be discovered.

Guests can also enjoy new day trips to the ruins at Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit which is situated in the hills below Belize’s Maya Mountains.  Lubaantun is said to have been the discovery site of the famous Mitchell-Hedges Crystal Skull. The Nim Li Punit ruins are home to 26 stelae, tall, carved stone slabs, constructed to honor a person or an event.

Resort Details and Activities

While there is so much to do in the surrounding areas, there is still fun to be had on the Kanantik grounds.  Since the resort was built along the seashore, water lovers will enjoy using sea kayaks or going on a guided snorkeling tour on the Barrier Reef.

The resort offers 25 secluded oceanfront cabanas, each designed with an ancient Mayan feel.  The “Cabana Only” rates start at $300 per night and the “Deluxe Mayan Dream” all-inclusive daily rate is $402 per person, per night.
