The North End Boston: Five Favorite Italian Restaurants
Italian may just be Boston’s favorite type of cuisine and everyone knows that the North End is home to some of Boston’s best Italian restaurants. Here are five authentic North End ristorantes.
- Giacomo’s (355 Hanover St., Boston ,617-523-9026)(Map) – You will likely wait for a table (this is a no reservation/cash only place) but all will be forgiven once you tuck into the lobster ravioli with tomatoes and a garlic cream sauce.
- Antico Forno (93 Salem St., Boston, 617-723-6733)(Map)A good bet for moderately-price Southern Italian cuisine- brick-oven specialties like fusilli baked with eggplant and zucchini in a red tomato sauce and a best-ever pollo arrosto or roast chicken .
- Taranta (210 Hanover St., Boston, 617-720-0052)(Map) Intriguing menu choices here- Italian with a Peruvian twist. The signature dish just has to be the brined double cut pork chop with the sugar can pepper glaze.
- Marco Cucina Romana (253 Hanover St., 2nd floor, Boston, 617-742-1276) (Map) Eat as the Romans do at this warm and charming trattoria . The seasonal, carefully -crafted menu is best described as “rustic Italian”. Note: the restaurant is on the second floor and a little tricky to find.
- Pizzeria Regina (11 1/2 Thacher St., Boston, 617-227-0765) (Map)Traveling “en famille”? A North End institution since the 1920′s Pizzeria Regina is famous for its thin-crust wood brick oven pizza and is a great choice for families.
