Edinburgh Trams Delayed Again…For Good Reason

We’ve all heard the moans and groans about increasing costs and delays in the rollout of trams in Edinburgh.  Well – there’s been another delay, but this time for good reason….

The Scotsman is reporting the find of burial remains underneath Edinburgh’s main artery, Princes Street, unearthed during the digging of the tram pathways.  The finds are incredible – a burial chamber, it seems.  Similar

Edinburgh is one of those places, like many European capitals, that no matter where you dig, you’ll find something.  The process of digging up the old Victorian gas mains to be replaced also resulted in similar problems.    It is hard to fathom just how much history is hidden beneath the smooth cobblestones of modern Edinburgh.
