Hike Pinnacle Peak Park in Scottsdale
One of my favorite hikes, Pinnacle Peak is a moderate hike with an elevation gain of approximately 1,300 feet. At its highest point, 2,889′, the hike allows for spectacular views of the Valley and a chance to experience the uniqueness of the Sonoran desert filled with native plants which are marked along the trail.

I learned the hard way, but I will let you in on an important tip. The entire trail is not a loop trail meaning that you come back over the same trail. If you’re not up for the entire hike, you can turn around at anytime.
Due to the Friends of Pinnacle Peak, an organization founded to ensure that the Park’s ambience is preserved for its future users, Pinnacle Peak Park is the most pristine hiking trail I’ve experienced in Phoenix. You can see volunteers regularly cleaning the parking lot, rest area and other features. They are dedicated to keeping this exquisite park a meaningful and memorable visit for all visitors.
