Just – One, Katmandu, Nepal

“Since 2004 just-one has been working at a grass-roots level in Nepal, both independently and in partnership with local organizations within affected communities, to provide improved access to educational opportunities for disadvantaged children who are otherwise denied such benefits.”

This organization consistently promotes and facilitates educational opportunities for marginalized and disadvantaged children in the Katmandu Valley. With these children’s families, and communities, a culturally sensitive and sustainable plan is developed. From start to finish just-one ensures that any peer-mentoring and counseling services required are provided for children and/or their families as and when necessary. This is true for after the child leaves the transition home and returns back to their home. Support will always be available for the child and their family to make sure they do not end-up back on the street.

Currently volunteers are employed when a certain skill they posses will benefit the children. As of now, I currently volunteer in teaching English and photography. These children enjoy learning photography and at the same time are learning English. Any skills are welcomed however, consistency and your time availability must be considered before working with children.
