Oak Park Arts Retreat
Let your inner artist shine this weekend at Chicago’s Oak Park Arts Retreat, October 2 – 4. The retreat offers several workshops (three or six hours; costs range from $65-$100), including Fused Glass Platters, Junk Drawer Jewelry, Honoring Dreams in Collage, and Wet-Felted Purse. There will also be yoga and meditation classes. The event kicks off the 10-day ArtRageous Oak Park arts celebration that runs through October 10.
Bonus: If you buy three classes, you’ll get a $15 food voucher to be used at area restaurants, including Buzz Café, Trattoria 225, Eastgate Café, or Briejo.
After the workshop, save time to take a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s house and studio. You can also do a self-guided audio tour of Wright’s former neighborhood that includes European designed homes and homes inspired by Wright’s prairie style.
