Have you noticed lately how the library is the hip place to go? Perhaps, it seems like it is as I’m always searching for deals and discounts in Palm Beach County for one of my other blogs Palm Beach on the Cheap and there is always something going on at the library in West Palm Beach that I am interested in – dance classes, wii bowling for seniors, yoga, Spanish conversation. When did the library become full of activity?

And now…they’ve entered the culinary scene. Yes, come on down this Saturday for a ceviche demonstration.

Where: West Palm Beach Public Library, 411 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach

When: Saturday, September 19

Time: 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Cost: FREE

Stop on down for a taste of Peru and learn how to make ceviche from Chef Marcelino Oquendo from La Esquina del Ceviche Restaurant.

Besides this demonstration, you should definitely check out their schedule and what they have to offer. Some of their programs that caught my eye include:

Spanish Conversation Groups meet on Mondays (both a beginner and a separate intermediate level group) at 6:30 pm

Dance Classes:

  • Ballroom Dancing is on Mondays at 6:00 – 7:45 pm
  • Argentine Tango is on Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Yoga is offered on Saturday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

Wii Senior Bowling Tournament: Takes place on Fridays, September 18 & 25 and October 2 & 9 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm

They also have movie nights, meditation classes, book clubs, author visits and more. You can view their month calendar of events online.
