Meet Top Authors at the National Book Festival
Seventy-five bestselling authors including mystery and fiction writers David Baldacci, John Grisham, John Irving, Julia Alvarez, history writers Ken Burns and Gwen Ifill and celebrity chef and children’s book writer Paula Deen will be among many authors presenting at the 9th annual National Book Festival in Washington, DC.
Organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress, the National Book Festival attracts thousands of book lovers from around the country and dozens of authors from popular fiction to serious histories
Festival-goers can meet and listen to discussions and presentations from their favorite fiction and non-fiction authors, purchase books by authors attending the festival and have their books signed by the author.
The festival is split into six pavilions, including Fiction, Mysteries & Thrillers, History & Biography,Children, Teens & Children, and Poetry & Prose.
For families, kids can have their photo taken with one of several PBS storybook characters and participate in a variety of learning activities including visiting each of the state booths and getting a free US map stamped by each of the 50 states.

I LOVE the National Book Festival! Great authors come and it is always so nice to see people excited about reading. I’m sad I won’t make it this year (although my book club is going as a group) because I have VIP tickets to Das Beer. Anyone downtown should definitly go check it out though!
