Win a ‘iKnow Letters, Animals, Sounds’ DVD’!
Leading San Diego Educational Development Expert, Cindy Coleman, M.Ed. saw a gap in America’s education system. She knew that certain literacy tools were missing, and that something had to be done to help instill a love of reading in America’s children.
In an effort to encourage confident readers who are conscious about the environment, her San Diego company Take Pride Learning has partnered with the San Diego Zoo and developed an adventure learning system.
“It was our dream to create an inspiring educational program,” says Coleman. “One that would balance ‘reading readiness’ with joy-filled childhood exploration; encouraging children to dream, imagine, be curious about the world around them, and learn that their contribution matters.”
The iKnow Beginning Reading System DVD collection assists children in developing language and reading skills while simultaneously fostering a sense of eco-consciousness. The DVDs take children on an epic journey through the Rain forest, Africa, and the San Diego Zoo where they meet animals in their habitats, learn about the environment, and discover the wonderful world of literacy.
The iKnow Animals, Letters & Sounds Beginning Reading System is an innovative, interactive DVD Collection that redefines how children learn by combining a strong foundation for literacy with an introduction to the environment. The collection will open young eyes, hearts and minds to the world in which they live, and the footprint they leave upon it.
The goal is to teach children how to read and awaken a spirit for learning by teaching them respect and giving all children an awareness of the culture and ecology that surrounds them – their global village.
