First luxury hotel in the Chicago suburbs
Considered the first luxury hotel in the Chicago suburbs, the Hotel Arista in Naperville, IL, has opened to positive reviews. The 144-room hotel is also one of the area’s first LEED-certified luxury accommodations with green touches such as using reusable laundry bags and water conservation fixtures.
Rooms with personal touches
Signature in-room amenities include headboards equipped with reading lights; marble bathrooms with walk-in showers and televisions embedded in the mirrors; flat-panel high-definition televisions; iPod docking stations; free WiFi; Wii or Wii Fit; and the hotel’s signature “Nosh Box” stocked with local, regional, and organic food items, as well as Pillow and Sleep menus.
The hotel also can bring treadmills, stationary bikes, and putting greens to a guest’s room.
Gourmet food
For dinner, the on-site SugarToad Restaurant will not disappoint. SugarToad’s menu changes daily and is “seasonally and regionally” based. One item that never leaves the menu are the crab cakes – “finally done right” as the menu says – no fillers, just crab meat and seasonings.
Other specialties on recent menus include American Kobe Flat Iron Steak with Stewed Peppers and Anchovy Butter and Grilled Fresh Cobia with Parmesan Butter Sauce. You can also enjoy the Anchovy butter with the house bread, a buttery brioche. One of the best parts of dinner is the restaurant’s signature amuse-bouche: tempura-style blowfish from Chesapeake Bay with basil butter.
