Epcot Guests Discover History of Tequila-Making

Connected to San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavilion , is La Cava del Tequila, a new little spot where Epcot guests can explore the heritage and tradition of tequila-making. The 30-seat La Cava del Tequila is open from noon until Epcot park closing time and invites guests to experience some of the more than 70 types of authentic tequila.

Ranging from the simplest blend to those made from the finest distilled spirits of the agave plant and aged to perfection, the tequilas range in price from $8 – $50.  Uniquely blended margaritas are also on the menu featuring a variety of flavored salts, spices and tropical fresh fruits.

If you are like me, and don’t know a lot about the history of tequila-making, rest assured as a “Tequila Ambassador” will be on hand to explain and educate.  Share also the art work and original artifacts that celebrate the Mexican heritage and create the warm decor.

Quick bites and tapas will be available, including fresh made guacamole, ceviche, and a variety of tostados, as the perfect accompaniment to these beverages.

La Cava del Tequila will be the location for the opening special events for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival as it hosts a Mexico Tequila Tasting, available by advance reservation.

The San Angel Inn has been a popular resting spot within the World Showcase and I am sure that this new little addition will enhance the popularity.  I for one, can not wait to expand my tequila knowledge!
