A cheap night at Alfama – barbecue and fado party 28th of August

This is a chance to participate on a cheap improvised Portuguese party at Alfama.
Alfama is one of the oldest quarters of Lisbon, a maze of small streets and alleys that bring alive the true spirit of old Lisbon. Fado is its ultimate musical expression.

This gathering will be held outside, on the stare case. Dinner will be simple but the best for the occasion, barbecue and cold green wine (there’s options for vegetarians). Along with this, there will be street fado out into the night. At the end, it may well turn into a jam session with people bringing their own instruments.

Since this is partly organized by Couchsurfers, there will be plenty of foreigners to meet and exchange ideas and histories.

You can have dinner for around €10, including drinks. Food will be simple, but the best for the occasion – barbecue with cold green wine.

Where: Largo de São Miguel, Alfama (map)
When: 28th August at 9pm
How much: you just pay what you eat and drink; the show is free. Expect to spend around €10 for dinner, including drinks.
