Venice Antique Market: What’s Old Is New Again…At Least To You

The Venice antique market is truly something that you should experience. There are several antique markets throughout Italy, but the one in Venice is unique. Where can you browse through books centuries old, find costumes perfect for Carnevale, and pick up that rare piece of pottery that your grandmother said she lost years ago? That’s easy, the Venice Antique Market.

For the month of August, the market starts on Friday August 28 and continues through Monday September 7, so you have plenty of time to check out the stands and find something truly unique for your souvenir. The market can be found in Campo di Santa Margherita (you’ll know that you’re there from the flattened church bell tower on the far end) and usually starts around 8am and continues until the evening. Try to avoid going from 12pm to 2pm as most vendors will go to lunch then and the only thing you’ll find is a bunch of tables covered with plastic or cloth. Don’t worry if you miss this market, it happens 4-6 times per year and the next one will be in October. Happy Shopping!
