Best luxury hotels in the world

A list of the world’s best luxury hotels was recently compiled by Luxury Travel Magazine. From Arizona to Greece, the magazine found a five-star gem with every amenity imaginable.

Here is a sampling of some of the world’s most upscale hotels:

Andronis Luxury Suites – Oia, Santorini, Greece - This boutique hotel on Santorini’s Caldera Cliff is perfect for honeymooners with its infinity pool with oxygen, views of the volcano, and an on-site spa and organic restaurant.

Hastings House – Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada – A luxury, English-style country retreat in one of the world’s most beautiful areas, British Columbia, the Hastings is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and was featured in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, and has “18 luxurious rooms and suites in historic and newer buildings around a 22-acre waterfront estate.”

21c Museum Hotel – Louisville, Kentucky - Expect luxury and southern hospitality at this boutique hotel created by Louisville philanthropists Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson whose “own passion for art” can be seen throughout the hotel, which was named Interior Design magazine’s “Best Hotel of the Year 2006.” 21c was also named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best hotels to stay at (2009). Room amenities include personal iPods, 42″ HDTV flat screen televisions, complimentary WiFi, and “500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets imported from Italy.”
