Ziggy Marley performs in Honolulu, August 14 & 15
In the wake of his 2006 album “Love Is My Religion,” which earned his fourth Grammy Award, Ziggy Marley shares his musical love with families – his own and the extended human family. An easygoing journey of original tunes and a few covers, the album offers a full collection of family-oriented songs for those already familiar with Marley’s beloved work in the genre, and may serve to introduce today’s youngest generation to reggae. Marley is joined on the CD by the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Paul Simon, and Jack Johnson.
On August 14, 2009 at 5 pm, Marley will perform at in Ward Centre in Honolulu. The music is free, but of course he will be signing his new Family Time CD for those who wish to purchase it.
You’ll want to get there early for this one!
He will also be doing a performance at Hawai‘i Children’s Discovery Center on August 15, 2009. The event is free and open to the public. You don’t have to pay admission to the Discovery Center to see the concert, but I’m sure they’d welcome your family afterward! Doors open at 10 am and space is limited. I’m told there will only be room for around 200 people. Seating will be on the lawn, and no chairs are allowed. Roy Sakuma’s ‘ukulele group will entertain you before Ziggy Marley begins at noon.
