The Valley’s Best Bakeries

Nothing Bundt Cakes

Nothing Bundt Cakes

When I was a kid, my friend lived next door to the Maurice Lenell cookie factory.  The counter lady would give us free cookies and we would run home change our clothes pretending to be someone else and go back for more.  I realized early on that I would do anything for sweets and bakeries were my refuge.  I haven’t found in Phoenix the German, Polish, Italian and French bakeries that I grew up with and I’m sure my waistline is grateful, but I’m not.

It took some research and plenty of wiping chocolate frosting out of the corners of my mouth, but I think I have a pretty good list of local bakeries that I would definitely buy a new wardrobe for to revisit again and again.

Tammie Coe
Tammie Coe has made a great name for herself with unbelievably unique cakes and sweets for any occasion.  You can sample her treats at local retailers including AJ’s, La Grand Orange Grocery or stop by her two locations on 40th Street and on East Roosevelt.

Sprinkles
Stopped by the posh new bakery, Sprinkles and now I get it!  Their specialty is cupcakes and they are amazing.  The red velvet cupcake melted in my mouth and my friend tried the black and white which was equally delicious.  They even have the Sprinkles mobile that delivers to your door.  Stop already!

Nothing Bundt Cakes
Love the name, love the bundts.  Adorable bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes are available in any size, color and style.  The chocolate chocolate chip is incredibly decadent.

Urban Cookies
Made of gourmet, organic ingredients, these cookies are wonderful.  Not only are their cookies good, but Urban Cookies is good to the people of Phoenix by using recyclable packaging and donating cookies to various charities.
