REVIEW: Lotus of Siam
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one of Vegas’ best kept national secrets. nests in an old strip mall in a relatively unknown part of town. Just to get there, one needs to wind through back alley corridors. Yet, somehow, this little gem of a restaurant has been written up in magazines and reviews across the country. Jonathon Gold, Gourmet Magazine, calls it “the single best Thai restaurant in North America.” The best deal is the buffet lunch which may include many of their signatory dishes, but to get the very best, order from the menu. Dinner features daily specials that take advantage of seasonal produce and fresh seafood that is picked up weekly from LA.
The food can be hot, so ask your waiter to recommend a heat level. The restaurant specializes in Northern Thai cuisine, which can be milder than traditional Thai food. Make sure you ask for the Northern Thai menu. The is a huge fan and has extensive recommendations. We’re novice Lotus fans, so we’re still taking . We love the green papaya salad and the beef jerky. Mango with sticky rice is the perfect way to cool your tongue back down.
