See many Russian warships

History of Russian navy started more than 300 years ago namely in St. Petersburg, so it’s no surprising that the Day of the Navy is celebrated in the city at a great scale,  maybe more that in any other marine city across the country. Neva river as you may guess from my previous posts is very well suited for arranging events as reggattas, parades of ships and so on.

The next Day is celebtated on July 26. Durimg the day you will be able to visit real warships of the Russian navy, anchored near the Neva embankments. How the parade of ships usually look like, you can see by the link to the last year’s event.

Around the Bronze Horseman, a monument dedicated to Peter the Great, the founder of St. Petersburg, there will be a parade of military personell of the ships and local navy base. Think there will undoubtedly be many things worth seeing! These two parades are scheduled for the morning.

At the Spit of the Vasilievsky island a concert of music bands is scheduled.
