Armchair Canal Boat Tour

The best introduction to Amsterdam for a first-time visitor is a one-hour canal boat tour. There are about six or seven companies offering these boat trips. They all follow the same route, provide the same (recorded) commentary in German, English, Dutch and French. Prices vary from €7 to €12.

You will cruise along canals, past house boats and a short trip on the river Amstel with wide views. True, These trips are a bit touristy, but an excellent introduction to Amsterdam.

Can’t visit Amsterdam? No problem. Lean back in your chair and you go on an armchair canal boat tour.
