Sand sculpture: today coming

As of today, new festival of The Sand sculture starts in St. Petersburg, at the beach of the Peter and Paul fortress. It lasts till 31st of August, so you have about one and a half months to enjoy yourself watching … I do not know exactly what you will see since every year the theme of the festival changes.

For this year the organizers have chosen “The Olympic Flame”, maybe it is a referring to the fact that Russian city Sochi is preparing to host the Olympic Games in 2014. Though it is the winter games. Main heroes of the present festival may become Olympic gods, Apollo with muses and images of sportsmen, of course. Anyway, it will be fantsatic, I think. I saw the last three maybe four festivals, it’s worth seeing.

The participants come from 14 countries.

The best way to get to the Peter and Paul fortress is to go by underground to the Petrogradskaya station and from there to the fortress. Please, remember, that Gorkovskaya station that is just near the fortress is closed for repair!

Entrance: 10.00-22.00
