Best Coffee in Edinburgh: Artisan Roast
Where is the best coffee in Edinburgh? .
Artisan roast is one of the only artisal coffeehouses in Edinburgh. It’s such a surreal experience and a must-do for any caffeine-lover visiting Edinburgh. Some of the reasons I love Artisan Roast include:
- The Back Room. There’s a back room hidden away, with loads of pillows and strange artwork on the walls. It’s like stepping into the looking glass into another world. Don’t forget to look up at the lights – they’re made of cafieteres.
- The Coffee. You might not understand the antipodean names (long black, short white) but man oh man do they brew a quality cup of coffee. So amazing. And they do latte art. Yay.
- The Beans. Yup, they sell their own beans – you can take them home!. They’re pretty reasonable, and you can buy as little as 100 grams. Don’t forget to let them know if you need them ground.
- The Staff. Mostly run by Kiwis, the staff here are super-friendly and know their way around the equipment. They never pour a bad cup of coffee.
- The Location. If it’s a sunny day you can grab a seat by the window or just outside and soak up the sun. It’s also the perfect spot halfway down Broughton Street so you can just relax and watch the world go by.
Here’s what their website says about “their story”:
Artisan Roast is primarily about service. We take a lot of pride in our coffee and we believe it cuts it with the best, but what really sets us apart from other businesses is our passion and commitment to our customers as well as our coffee and the people who produced it.
We’re based on the Antipodean coffee culture and take the same friendly attitude to our customers, but also the same critical attention to our coffee and to creating a great environment to drink it in.
So, what are you waiting for? Go and enjoy!
