Another Reason to Visit Auckland Zoo!

But you’ll have to be quick as these cute little critters will be given to other zoos when they are old enough to leave Ma and Pa and the family home!

The two new arrivals are baby boy, small-clawed otters who are an endangered species, although the two new guys don’t know that.

Mum and Dad, Jana and Juno are the first of the breed to reproduce in captivity in recent years and were going ‘steady’ for a year before they decided to start a family.

The young fellas are now about 6 weeks old and are already at home in their new home which as you would expect, has a neat pool complex for the guys to train in although they won’t get to check this out until around the end of July as they are still too young.

Only one drawback – Mr and Mrs Otter have to share their accommodation in an upstairs/downstairs arrangement with a family of monkeys who have grabbed the upstairs apartment!  Here’s hoping the otters get some sleep!
