The Dog-Walkers of Buenos Aires

I am certain you will come across this peculiar scene a few times while you are visiting Buenos Aires: a guy (or gal) walking about ten dogs or more of different sizes and shapes. This guy is one of the infamous dog-walkers of Buenos Aires.
Dogs are the most popular pets here in the city, and as most people live in apartments and work all day, the dogs have to be taken out on a regular basis. Dog-walkers have the job of doing this while people work. They have to walk the dogs twice each day, rain or shine, and of course keep the dogs under some kind of orderly control. What everybody wonders is: how come the dogs never fight? Such large groups of dogs and they all get along. It is amazing to see that the dogs form a hierarchy amongst themselves, and sometimes you will see a whole group sitting on the sidewalk together waiting for their dog-walker to come back.
The dog-walker will sit in the park with them, groom them, and have them play with each other. These dogs do not sit at home all day waiting for their humans to come home… no, they are walked by a professional, and don’t sit chewing up your sofa or shoes out of boredom.
Salaries in Argentina can be rather low according to western standards, but be assured that dog-walkers make quite a good living.
One word of advice, if you are walking on the sidewalks or if you go to a park in Buenos Aires: “MIND YOUR STEP”.

Hi there!
Dog walkers are everywhere, and it is lovely to see how the animals stay together and behave themselves with a person that it is not the master.
I spent a great time last month in Buenos Aires. I rented a furnished apartment in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, near the down town. I suggest that service called ForRent Argentina:
Cheers,
Fred
Dog walkers in Buenos Aires are common dog service but be aware of many problems owners have with them. There is no control over them as they do not required to obtain license.
It is common that some of these walkers sell expensive dog client for extra earning BE AWARE!
