Filipina Soul’s Tribute to Farrah Fawcett
Farrah Fawcett quietly passed away last Thursday, June 25, 2009. In addition to her role as one of the original Charlie’s Angels, Farrah also left a final legacy. A documentary of her illness and the struggles she went through aired on NBC in May.
Farrah’s fight against cancer is told in the thoroughly honest, and often emotional film, called Farrah’s Story. The documentary shows the truth about cancer as we seldom see it. In Farrah’s own words, “This is what cancer is”.
Farrah’s hope in making the documentary is to spread awareness about what this disease is, what it does, how it destroys and what can be done to stop it. This is what this tribute is about. The hope that cancer will be eradicated someday, not just for those with the means, but even for those without. The message that, even in the direst circumstance, courage and goodwill can be found.
