Progress Continues on the Edinburgh Waterfront Promenade
I’m happy to report that progress continues to complete the walking/cycling path along the North edge of Edinburgh, allowing pedestrians and cyclist to travel unencumbered from Crammond Beach in the west of the city all the way into Leith Harbour.
The latest news is that the path has been completed between Silverknowes and Granton (pictured above), and progress will continue this summer with the Granton Harbour and subquent connections into Newhaven and Leith.
Given the slow progress of construction works in the city centre, I’m so glad to hear projects like this are moving forward. This will be one of my top tourist recommendations because of the unspoilt views across the Firth of Forth once this is complete. It takes a couple of hours to walk all the way from Cramond to Leith, and while you can do it now portions aren’t exactly spectacular as the route goes through an industrial park. Bring on the waterfront!
