Edinburgh Welcomes new Luxury Hotel Missoni

The first piece of new construction along the Royal Mile in several years is complete – a new luxury hotel that has opened at the juncture of George IV Bridge and the Lawnmarket.  The brand is Hotel Missoni, a luxury brand from Israel.  Although the venue did not respond to multiple requests for information, it sounds like the Missoni will be Edinburgh’s top premium accomodation with fashionable interiors and tip top service.

The following video introduces the brand – Edinburgh is one of the first destinations with a Missoni, so it’s a real treat to see such a hotel come to the city:

The venue had space on the ground floor next to Victoria Street, but it seems a Pizza Express has opened up in this location.  Given that there are already several of these in the Old Town alone, this seems an odd choice that conflicts with the branding aforementioned.  However, tourists will enjoy the location as the large windows give great views down Victoria street, as it swings its way down to the Grassmarket.

Here’s a shot of the exterior (some of the construction equipment was still here at time of shooting):

Rooms are expected to start at £210 exclusing VAT.  More information can be found on the official hotel website.
